Ongoing Construction Progress Updates for House Builder
Four years of monthly progress update imagery and edited video, improving marketing, stakeholder updates, and project pitches, and becoming in indispensable asset to their day-to-day operations.
Project Overview
Client Type: House Builder
Location: Manchester, UK
Services: Construction Progress Monitoring, Aerial Videography
Deliverables: Visual Timeline Archive, Monthly Edited Video & HDR Photos
Challenges
Long-Term, Multi-Stage Build:
The client needed a consistent and efficient way to monitor development across multiple construction sites and phases spanning more than a year.

Lack of Visual Timeline:
Without regular aerial updates, the client had limited visual reference to track progress over time or report internally and to investors.

Limited On-Site Oversight:
Senior project managers were not always on site, so remote visibility and regular updates became critical to avoid miscommunication or delay.

Our Approach
Manual Photography & Videography:
Instead of automated mapping workflows, this project focused on manual drone photography and videography to capture wide-angle shots, detailed close-ups, and smooth cinematic flyovers that showcased progress in a visually engaging way.

Monthly Aerial Updates:
We returned to site each month to replicate key shots and maintain a consistent visual timeline. Our pilots adjusted framing and angles based on current site activity to ensure we captured the most relevant updates for that phase of construction.

Client-Centric Planning:
Before each visit, we worked directly with the site manager to align on priorities and ensure coverage of key points of interest - such as new housing rows, utilities installation, and road surfacing.

Safe & Legal Operations:
Some sites lie within controlled airspace, so we liaise with Greater Manchester Police prior to each flight. Our strong working relationship with GMP allowed us to obtain flight clearance efficiently and operate safely and legally throughout these (and all our) projects.
Results & Outcomes
Improved Project Oversight:
Monthly aerial views gave project managers and construction directors an objective and asynchronous record of progress without needing to be physically present.

Better Planning & Coordination:
The clear visual history has allowed for easier planning of site logistics, deliveries, and staging of upcoming phases.

Investor & Stakeholder Confidence:
Regular updates gave investors and partners confidence in the pace and quality of delivery, backed by independent, site-wide imagery.

Zero Disruption to Site Ops:
We are typically on and off site in under 1 hour and require no stoppage or interference with site work, ensuring minimal disruption.
