Who needs drone surveying?

Drone surveying is crucial for industries like construction/earthworks, energy, waste management, aggregates and more. Drone surveys offer efficient and cost-effective data collection, enabling accurate mapping of terrain, structures, and landscapes. What is meant by 'drone survey'?

A drone survey involves utilising an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to capture aerial data using an array of sensors, including RGB or multispectral cameras, and LiDAR payloads. This method enables accurate mapping of terrain, structures, or landscapes from above, offering valuable insights for industries such as construction, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Our drone surveys encompass topographical surveys, roof surveys, stockpile surveys, photogrammetry surveys and more.

How accurate is a drone survey?

Drone surveys can boast impressive accuracy levels when carried out effectively, often achieving accuracy down to 1cm; though this dependent on many factors such as the type of drone, addition technology used (GNSS recievers, GCPs), the flight altitude, and more. With advancements in technology and the use of high-resolution techniques like LiDAR and photogrammetry, drone surveys can deliver highly accurate data comparable to traditional surveying, suitable for various applications in industries such as construction, mining, agriculture, and land management.

What data can we capture?

Throughout our fleet of drones, we can capture 5.1K high-resolution video and photos. While these assets can then be used 'straight out of the box' for marketing, inspection, or progress reporting purposes, we can also utilise specialised photogrammetry software to create maps, point clouds, 3D models, virtual fly-throughs, elevation models and more. These more specialised outputs allow for effortless integration of our data into your own workflows and operations, ultimately saving you time and money throughout the lifetime of your project.
